While he may have been originally known as the frontman for rap group, ONYX, Sticky Fingaz has now transcended all expectations and made a name for himself as a bonafide solo rap star and actor.

Born Kirk Jones, the Brooklyn native began his career by performing with his cousin Fredro Starr. The pair were soon discovered by rap legend Jam Master Jay of RUN-D.M.C. They formed Onyx and in 1993 released their first album, Bacdafucup. The group released two more records before Sticky began his pursuit of a solo career. After making appearances on Eminem’s album "The Marshall Mathers LP" and on Biohazard’s "New World Disorder", Sticky released his first solo album in 2000 titled, "Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones." All Music Guide said, "Black Trash stands as an impressive debut that blends Sticky Fingaz' two loves: film and hip-hop."

He also sought a side career as an actor and starred in a number of high profile films like Clockers, Dead Presidents and Next Friday. He also found his way to the small screen in guest starring roles on highly acclaimed shows like New York Undercover, Nash Bridges and The Shield. Most recently, Fingaz signed on to play a lead role in the upcoming UPN show, "Platinum." Produced by John Ridley ("The Three Kings") and Sofia Coppola and executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola, among others, the show is bound to draw attention to Sticky’s talents.

ON APRIL 29th

DEDICATES ALBUM TO HIS MENTOR JAM MASTER JAY

FIRST SINGLE 'CAN’T CALL IT' TO IMPACT RADIO APRIL 8th

Los Angeles, CA—Best known as part of the rap supergroup ONYX, Sticky Fingaz plans to release his sophomoric solo album, "DECADE (BUT WAIT, IT GETS WORSE)" on April 29th. The album is produced by Sticky Fingaz along with Scott Storch who produced tracks on Dr. Dre’s "Still D.R.E.," Xzibit’s "Restless" and Snoop Dogg’s "Tha Last Meal."

Fingaz opens the album with a tribute to the man who discovered him, Jam Master Jay of RUN-D.M.C., who was brutally murdered at a Queens, NY studio late last year. In frustrated anger Sticky says, "I dedicate this album to my mentor, my brother, the N**** that put me on… I am not going to mourn his death, I am going to celebrate his life!" The debut single from the album is titled "Can’t Call It" and will impact radio on April 8th.

ONYX burst on the scene in 1993 with their first album "Bacdafucup." The album went on to be a platinum-certified smash, due to the runaway success of the hit single "Slam," which went on to become one of the year's biggest rap hits. The album beat out heavy competition (Dr. Dre's "The Chronic") at the Soul Train Awards for Best Rap Album that year.

Two ONYX albums later, Sticky was pursuing a side career as an actor and appeared in the films "Clockers," "Dead Presidents," and "Next Friday." He also guest starred in a number of high profile television series such as "New York Undercover," "Nash Bridges," and "The Shield." Most recently, Fingaz signed on to play a lead role in the upcoming UPN show, "Platinum." Produced by John Ridley ("The Three Kings") and Sofia Coppola and executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola, among others, the show is bound to draw attention to Sticky’s talents.

His first solo album "Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones" was released in 2000 to overwhelming critical acclaim. The follow-up, "DECADE (But Wait, It Gets Worse)" promises to do the same. With appearances from ONYX groupmate, Fredro Starr and actor OmarEpps, the album grasps the same kind of brutal honesty and street credibility Sticky is famous for.

"DECADE (But Wait, It Gets Worse)" hits the streets on April 29th.
