MISS FUNK

Miss Funk is probably one of the most technically talented DJ's to hail from The Emerald City! Male OR Female. Her natural ease on the turntables and her talented ear for the cuts marry the perfect blend of turntablism and programming that make it impossible to leave the dancefloor!

At the age of 19, her studies in digital music and film scoring got her interested in music production and opened the floodgates to the world of dance music.   It was around that time that DJ Roman, arguably one of the Pacific Northwest’s most talented and prolific DJ/Producers, took her under his wing.  Under his tutelage, her natural abilities took flight. Soon after, she was booking regular gigs, even before she was of legal age to actually attend!

In the late 90’s, Miss Funk befriended two of Seattle’s other up and coming female DJs: Emily Song and Mini Funk.  These ladies were also attracting some attention in the northwest nightlife.  Before long, the 3 formed one of Seattle’s most notorious female DJ collectives, The Vixens Of Vinyl.  Together, the 3 produced a successful regular club night, Twilight.  For 4 years Twilight not only brought the fans out in droves, but hosted some of the most noteable talent of the time.

By 2004, the Vixens all went their separate ways, but that didn’t stop Miss Funk!  Playing on bills for noteable Northwest promoters, holding residencies at various nightclubs (Last Supper Club, Aristocrats, I Spy, Showbox), regular out of state gigs, and playing alongside industry legends (DJ Dan, Mark Farina, Grand Master Flash, DJ Icey, Collette, Bad Boy Bill, Donald Glaude, Black Eyed Peas) kept her busy building her name and fanbase.  Her addition to the Re:Launch-HitGirl! roster later that same year, only solidified her stronghold as a top name DJ in the Northwest club scene.

Currently based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, Miss Funk enjoys a full schedule of regular gigs and appearances.  Her humble attitude, drive for perfection, and ability to connect with a crowd through her in depth performances, continue to make her one of the most reputable and talented DJs on the West Coast.
