LA KENDALL
LA Kendall has been a part of the Seattle Music Scene for nearly two decades. More than just a DJ, she is also a vocalist, producer, promoter, booking agent, and more! She wears so many hats - she can fill TWO closets! As founding member of Re:Launch-HitGirl! Productions, a company which features a roster of talented DJ's from all over the United States, L.A. Kendall was among the first to throw parties and promote the platform of the female DJ.
HitGirl! originated in Seattle, WA in 1996, at a time when Female DJs were predominately shut-out of major clubs. Inspired largely by the efforts of the Super Jane Collective (Chicago) and Women on Wax (Detroit), LA Kendall set out to CREATE opportunities that were otherwise unavailable to female DJs. HitGirl! began as 3 members, promoting the collective via throwing their own club nights with their own money. These parties attracted a diverse crowd that spring boarded these women into being one of the hottest commodities on the DJ circuit.
HitGirl! has been involved in a wide variety of events, noteworthy residencies, and parties featuring artists ranging from Boy George, Sir Mix A Lot, Black Eyed Peas, The Super Jane Collective, Jackie Christie, Charlotte the Baroness, DJ Jeno, Junior Sanchez, to Princess Superstar. In the last 5 years, under the guidance of LA Kendall, HitGirl! has grown to include an exclusive talent roster which includes: Spinderella (of Salt N Pepa), DJ Minx, Tina T, Miss Funk, DJ Lisa Pittman, Rekha, Loli - and other guest members that rotate through quarterly. HitGirl!'s sister company, Re:Launch, was started as a way to connect marketing and sponsorship opportunities with events and talent in 2002. Today, RL/HG! books talent, produces events, executes marketing strategies, and SO MUCH MORE. Like a fine wine, it just gets better with time.
When she's not busy being a mogul, L.A. Kendall is a music lover on all accounts that likes to keep busy playing for a diverse cross section of audiences. Known for mixes encompassing Hard, Funky, Electro, Disco and Vocal House, you can catch her nearly every weekend at one of her many residencies in some of Seattle's most prestigious venues.
