RICHARD HUMPTY VISSION has electrified audiences everywhere with his rapid fire, non-stop audio assaults for over a decade. Listen to any of his DJ sets, remixes or productions and no one can deny that this artist has his heart and soul set on igniting the dance floor. With his new compilation mix CD for Tommy Boy Silver Label, DAMN THAT DJ MADE MY DAY, he does just that.

This new body of work offers a song selection that stays clear of current dance floor anthems in favor of cutting-edge house representing what VISSION describes as "…a mature feel with more solid underground tracks." Leading with chunky high-energy breaks, the album demonstrates VISSION’s unique mix style with songs like Sebastian Leger’s "Afro Dyzyak," Keoki’s "Pass It On," and "Rise," a new VISSION track featuring early 90’s techno queen Rozalla mixed into one another in mind-boggling succession. For the first time ever he invites special guests to appear on his record. DJ Swamp, the 1996 U.S. DMC turntable champion who has recorded with Beck, Morcheeba, and The Crystal Method provides special cuts and scratches and Chicago house chanteuse and turntablist DJ Mea, who lends her vocal skills to the pulsating house track "I See You In My Dreams." In a period where all other DJs are trying to ‘specialize’ in one sound VISSION is breaking all the rules.

A child of the mid-80’s Los Angeles club scene, VISSION quickly established himself among the DJs of the area with his unique mix style that melded various genres of underground music in astonishing progression. In 1992, when techno and house were the new sounds that radio didn’t understand VISSION’s street credibility from DJing at local events landed him at POWER 106, one of Los Angeles largest urban radio stations, with his own show called POWER TOOLS. On the weekly two-hour show, listeners were treated to mixes by VISSION and some of the biggest names in global DJ culture such as: Little Louie Vega, Carl Cox, Armand Van Helden, Paul Oakenfold and Bob Sinclar to name just a very few. VISSION continues to host the show which is now the longest running dance mix radio show in America.

VISSION launched Aqua Boogie Records in 1994 releasing such club anthems as "The Feeling" by Sugar and "Saxmania" by Mijangos and "Energy" by Devone. At the same time he began remixing and producing artists and helped to create many #1 Billboard Dance Chart toppers. Madonna, Kristine W., Enrique Iglesias, Martha Wash, Barbara Tucker, Rozalla, Crystal Waters and Adrenaline have had their work treated to a VISSION remix, or have gone in the studio with him and produced original material. In 2001, his remix talents garnered him a prestigious Grammy nomination for "Remixer of the Year (non-traditional)." During the nationally televised ceremony VISSION performed with Madonna for her opening number of her smash single "Music" of which his remix landed him his nomination. VISSION has also appeared on MTV’s ‘TRL,’ ‘Rock ‘n Jock,’ and ‘Blame Game’ where he also served as music director for two seasons.

Today VISSION continues to work in the studio producing and remixing, while keeping true to his roots DJing at major electronic music festivals and clubs such as Cyberfest, Together As One, and New York’s Subliminal Sessions & The Tunnel.
