DJ Snuff

DJ Snuff is a one of a kind mixer who has been in the game since 1992. For some that might not seem like a long time but this mixologist has the skills to rock the house. Snuff who likes to call himself the Royal Imperial Lumpia Slanger grew up in Central Valley, California. He has resided in Phoenix, AZ; Sactown, CA; Simi Valley, CA; and now calls Orosi, CA home. Snuff found his calling after hearing a local Dj mixing it up, and thought to himself, "Now that’s what I wanna do". So he got his first set of Pyramid tables and mixer to start out. He has moved up from those to Numark ttx1 and a SM1 mixer. With these he lays out the hottest Hip Hop, R&B, and Freestyle sounds out today. Still he will throw in some old school without any hesitation. This Lumpia Slanger’s all time top 5 would be;

  • "Peter Pipper", by Run DMC
  • "One More Chance", by Biggie
  • "Can You Feel The Beat", by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam
  • "Blue Cheese", by UMC
  • "Brass Monkey", by Beastie Boys

Snuff is currently making a name for himself at KBOS in Fresno. He got his big break in April of 2002 at the "B95 So You Want To Be A DJ Contest". Although he didn’t win the competition, a little luck (as well as some great advice from DJ Patrick) got him a guest spot on the Cali Caliente mix weekend. A couple months of guest spots and mix weekends later Snuff earned a spot on the tightest mix team in the central valley.
THE UNFADABLE MIX SQUAD!! He also puts out mixtapes from time to time. He is currently working on one which will be entitled, "Pimpy Wonka and the Chocolate Back Hand". As you can see the brother gots jokes. For the most part he keeps a listen to what other DJ’s put out. Still he mostly challenges himself to improve his own skills by practice, practice, practice. He is his own biggest critique (and fan, jk).
Snuff believes Hip Hop will continue to dominate the music industry and only get stronger as time goes by. He does wish the mix show DJ’s got more recognition. With a growing number of kids coming up wanting to be DJ’s, Snuff is confident that will eventually change. The key will be if record labels will join in on that sentiment. He is currently getting a website constructed but if you are interested in booking this talented turntable twister you can hit’em up at DJSNuff@tmail.com.
