DJWags Picks February 2, 2009
If you're in London and have a need to hear some sweet tunes - email DJWags to find out when and where he might be laying them down. CHEERS!

Hey Beatheads!

Happy New Year and all that drivel… I don’t believe in New Years resolutions. But if I did, I would have to say one would be being more consistent with these reviews to you folks. Admittedly I have been sporadic at best with these … what can I say... life can get crazy sometimes.

It’s been a tough year for all of us. But watching Barack Obama speak to the nation the other day, I was struck by a sense of hope and optimism I have not felt in a long time. Even the most cynical of us would have to admit that was a moment that will ring in the injured soul of America for years to come. The trick will be keeping this momentum going. It is really up to all of us as individuals to make the difference. So my New Years prayer is that everyone will dig a little deeper and work a little harder to be better and shine brighter. I know we can.

A great way to become inspired is through good music. So I have brought you a few gems to help your hearts & souls get down and groove as you move forward into this new year of 2009. I have decided to draw your attention to some of the deeper and dubbier stuff I’ve been playing recently, I hope you dig’em as much as I do.

Until next time, as Ringo Star said: “Peace & Love, Peace & Love!”

But I actually mean it.

“The Seduction of Silence”

2008 Echospace

A deep and brilliant DubTech record out of Detroit. Stephen Hitchel who is known from some amazing work with Rod Modell and the critically acclaimed Deepchord project “Modern Love.”

Released on his own Echospace label, this record is so thick and heavy it makes me relax and chillout the moment I hear the first few bars… one of my fav’s so far this year, really good stuff.
